Agricultural Research Program Reports Yield System Findings
Four seasons of field trial data indicate that coordinated planting, harvest scheduling and delivery routing can raise effective yield without changes to seed or acreage.

CEDAR COUNTY, IOWA
SucroCorp’s Agricultural Research program today published summary findings from four seasons of coordinated field trials conducted with participating growers across the company’s primary supply counties.
The trials examined effective yield, the volume of usable material a system delivers to processing, as distinct from field yield measured at harvest. Findings indicate that coordinated planting windows, harvest scheduling and delivery routing raise effective yield materially without changes to seed selection or planted acreage.
“Growers have optimized what happens inside the fence line for a hundred years, and they are very good at it,” said Marcus Hale, Executive Vice President, Agricultural Supply. “What has never been optimized is everything outside it. At SucroCorp, understanding yield means understanding the entire system.”
Program findings will be incorporated into agronomic guidance offered to participants in the Grower Partnership Initiative. A public summary is published as Grower Partnership Overview (SC-2012-041) in the corporate documents library.
The company expects to extend coordinated scheduling to additional counties in the following crop year.
