New Consumer Research Center Opens in Lincoln County
The 84,000 square foot facility consolidates SucroCorp's sensory evaluation, formulation and consumer response work under a single roof.

LINCOLN COUNTY, NEB.
SucroCorp today opened its Consumer Research Center, an 84,000 square foot facility consolidating the company’s sensory evaluation, formulation development and consumer response programs at a single location.
The center houses twenty-four individual sensory evaluation stations, three pilot-scale formulation kitchens, an instrumented preparation laboratory and a data analysis wing supporting the company’s longitudinal panel work. Approximately 140 researchers, technicians and analysts are based at the site.
“For a long time, this work was distributed across five buildings in three states,” said Dr. Eleanor Whitfield-Marsh, Executive Vice President, Consumer Nutrition. “Bringing it together lets us follow a question from the first taste panel all the way through to what people are still buying eleven months later.”
The facility’s longitudinal panel program enrolls participating households on a voluntary basis and follows their preferences over extended periods. Findings inform SucroCorp’s formulation guidance to customers as well as the company’s Consumer Satisfaction Initiative.
Participation in SucroCorp research panels is voluntary, compensated and may be discontinued by a participant at any time.
