Research Program Demonstrates Improved Caloric Acceptance
Panel results indicate that formulation adjustments can raise the caloric density a consumer accepts within a serving without a corresponding change in reported fullness.

LINCOLN COUNTY, NEB.
SucroCorp’s Consumer Nutrition group today reported results from a panel program examining caloric acceptance, the caloric density a consumer will accept within a single serving before reporting that a portion feels large.
Across the tested categories, formulation adjustments developed by the group raised measured caloric acceptance without a corresponding change in participant-reported fullness. Participants in the adjusted-formulation arms consistently reported the servings as comparable in size to the reference formulations.
“Fullness is not a measurement of intake,” said Dr. Marisol Okonjo-Reyes, Vice President, Behavioral Research. “It is a report. Our interest is in the distance between the two, and in how reliably that distance can be widened.”
The program also tracked behavioral consistency, the degree to which an individual’s selections remain stable across repeated sessions. Adjusted-formulation arms showed higher consistency scores at every measured interval.
SucroCorp intends to incorporate the findings into formulation guidance offered under the SucroPlus™ platform. Additional evaluation is scheduled at expanded panel scale.
All research described was conducted with voluntary, compensated adult participants under the company’s internal review protocols. No participant data is published or transferred outside the program.
