Abstract
This overview describes the terms and services of the Grower Partnership Initiative for current and prospective participants. Enrollment opens by county and by season.
01Program terms
- Three-year rolling acreage commitments with annual review
- Seasonal agronomic consultation from the SucroCorp agronomy division
- No-cost soil and tissue analysis each season
- Delivery scheduling coordinated with regional elevator capacity
- Yield benchmarking against anonymized program participants
- Early access to findings from the agricultural research program
02Participant obligations
- Delivery within scheduled windows
- Conformance with moisture and quality specifications at intake
- Sharing of field-level yield data with the agronomy division
- Participation in coordinated planting and harvest scheduling where applicable
03Effective yield
The program distinguishes field yield, measured at harvest, from effective yield, the volume of usable material delivered to processing. The difference between the two is created by scheduling, delivery moisture, routing, storage and timing.
Four seasons of coordinated trials indicate that closing that gap raises effective yield materially without any change to seed selection or planted acreage. Understanding yield means understanding the entire system.
